Moments

If we can, just for a moment

stand again on a narrow plateau

Cast our eyes upon timeless

snow-crested alps,

its rapid slopes, patchy greens

Hear a wailing merciless wind

in the waking morning

Take a stroll down

a wayworn cobblestone lane

along the Danube,

holding hands in expectation

Lie close onto sprawling lawns,

beneath an awakening springtime

under a blue Bavarian sky

If we could steal one more summer

laze under age old pines

Play in waves innocent games

in poetised Adriatic Sea

Dance in the riviera moonlight

wishing for time – to stand still

Choose with care delicate figs,

wipe off gliding milky tears

Walk barefoot to the tilled plains,

harvest scented camomile flowers

Gaze in wonder at toiling bees

hovering, humming on an on – for hours

Pretend, nothing around us exists

Forget, how each day meets its end,

never resurrects

never comes back, the same again

If we can just for a briefest moment

be the centre of your own

boundless universe
