This evening you linger in my memory
my Dalmatia ,
and I seek the warmth of your heavens
My heart is longing for the blue
expanse of your sea ,
while autumn beneath the Southern Cross
departs again into distance
Winter is approaching
The winds from Antartica blustering ,
lashing the naked trees
with a downpour of changes ,
drumming on my windows
And I –
I am still listening to the languages
of the unknown
On the open streets of human equality
no one hears my footsteps ,
nor values the roots of my origin
Amidst colourful tribes
and a river of idioms ,
in between a myriad entwined souls
without your rocky outback
without your sea
Without your name
I am forever alone
