In our youth
Summer never lasted
Long enough
Azure skies endless
Alike wishful dreams
A stretched imagination
Of possibilities
How majestic mountains seemed
Mirages gliding on naked cliffs
Hours drifting , holding onto light
Tranquility after the noon
Stolen moments
To hold hands
Steal soft kisses
Searching eyes
Lingering looks
Throbbing hearts
Effusing unending love
Poplar trees stand in silence
By the rivers edge
Listening to
A secret whispers
Sworn promises to write
A faithful long letters
In years to come
Us two , back of beyond
Inseparable
Waiting on balmy coolness
Before a nightfall
In the summer of
Nineteen sixty four
